Bang & Olufsen’s new Beoplay EX wireless earphones land in SA next month

This week Bang & Olufsen revealed a new pair of wireless earphones in the form of the Beoplay EX.

These new buds are billed as a bit of jack of all trades within the Beoplay lineup, with the Danish manufacturer noting that it features superb comfort for wearing over long sessions, along with offering active noise cancelling (ANC), up to six hours battery life with ANC on and a sweatproof (IP57 certified) design if you plan to use them while exercising.

The included charging case also extends said battery life to up to 20 hours when fully charged. Added to this is support for aptX listening thanks to Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and support for Android and iOS via a native Bang & Olufsen app.

You also wont have to wait long for the Beoplay EX wireless earphones to be available locally, with the wearables expected in South Africa next month. A specific date in May has not been mentioned, but Bang & Olufsen confirmed in a press release sent to Hypertext that the Beoplay EX will retail for a recommended R8 399.

This isn’t cheap, but is in keeping with the pricing that premium devices from the Danish manufacturer.

There are three colour options for the Beoplay EX – Anthracite Oxygen, Black Anthracite and Gold Tone. Anthracite Oxygen is the first colourway coming to SA in May, with Gold Tone and Black Anthracite arriving in June and July respectively.
