Last week there were whispers of a new legend being born in From Software’s latest controller breaker, Elden Ring.
That legend is known as Let Me Solo Her, a player running nothing but a loincloth, dual wielded Kitanas, a pot for a helmet and an inordinate amount of patience.
As you might be aware, Elden Ring allows players to summon other players to help with boss fights. While this does increase the health of the enemy to account for two more players, Let Me Solo Her has been taking one fight in their stride – the fight against Malenia.
This fight is intense. Not only does it span two phases, Malenia is able to heal on hits (even those blocked with a shield) and being inflicted with Scarlet Rot, which the boss also has up its sleeve, can end runs quickly.
As such many players avoid Malenia altogether given that she is in a secret area of the map only unlocked by defeating another difficult boss. For those that try though, if they are lucky enough they can call on Let Me Solo Her.
You can see Let Me Solo Her in action here and they make the fight look easier than it really is.
Now players can bring their own Let Me Solo Her into their own game with the use of a mod.
Titled, Puppet of the Legend, this mod adds Let Me Solo Her as a spirit summon which means you can summon the legend into any boss fight or area that allows for spirit summons.
The mod has been created by modder Garden of Eyes and you will need to subscribe to their Patreon here for $5 a month in order to access the mod according to Polygon. The mod replaces the Lone Wolf Ashes so if you intend to pick this up to make things a bit easier for yourself, make note of that.
Now, if like us you were thinking this summon was basically the Mimic Tear in a different skin, you would be wrong. It’s unclear what is happening here but having seen our Mimic Tear do nothing in fights, this is not a reskin.
Some in the Elden Ring community have criticised Garden of Eyes for putting this mod behind a paywall while others are only too happy to have a summon that can help them beat end-game bosses.
We suspect that Let Me Solo Her will be further immortalised by From Software itself given the grip the player has on the community whether through an Easter Egg introduced in future games or becoming a permanent meta fixture like Patches have.
Elden Ring is currently offline for maintenance with a new patch in 1.04 set to be dropping within the hour. We aren’t sure what From Software will be fixing or changing, but we suspect that many cheesy tactics will come to an end today. Rivers of Blood in PvP, we’re looking at you.
This Let Me Solo Her mod might be just the thing we need depending on what this patch does.
