Finally, a full trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi

It feels like we’ve been waiting for the Obi-Wan Kenobi show for many years and, after the short teaser recently, we finally have a full trailer.

While it’s not a long trailer (it’s actually shorter than the teaser somehow) it’s the most we’ve seen of the show so far and there’s a lot packed in.

We start with Obi-Wan warning younger Owen Lars (once again played by Joel Edgerton) that Luke Skywalker needs to be hidden from the Inquisition and trained to be a Jedi when the time comes.

Speaking of the Inquisition we get to see more of them and they’ve apparently put a bounty on Obi-Wan’s head. It’s these bounty hunters that we saw a brief glimpse of in a fight on the rooftops from the teaser.

We also get a very brief look at Kumail Nanjiani who seems to be wearing the familiar Jedi robes in the split second we see. Obviously anyone can wear robes in Star Wars but it’s kind of a Jedi thing, so we’ll have to wait and see if he’s some kind of Force user here.

The trailer ends with some shots of Darth Vader. Hayden Christensen will be returning for this series and we’re interested to see (and hear) how it will be handled. We doubt Christensen will be inside Darth Vader’s suit or providing a voice for him, so his involvement may be relegated to flashbacks.

In all honestly this trailer doesn’t show much or reveal anything important we didn’t already know, but we’re still glad to see it and it did the job all trailers are meant to do: get us excited.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will be available from Disney+ on 27th May when it will air its first two episodes will premiere at the same time.

Thankfully, by that date, South Africans will finally have access to Disney+ and will be able to watch along with everyone else.
