Latest Devolver title Card Shark launches 2nd June

The latest title to be published by Devolver Digital is Card Shark which will be available on PC and Nintendo Switch from 2nd June.

In just under a month players will get to lie and con their way through life and death card games set against an interesting time period and an even more interesting art style.

As you can see from the header image above and the launch date reveal trailer below, Card Shark is meant to look like a moving piece of art.

This fantastic aesthetic is complimented with some amazing animations, especially closeups of character hands as they deftly deal cards. Human hands are a difficult piece of human anatomy to draw and animate which makes it all the more impressive.

“Cheat your way to the top of 18th-century French society. Master deceptions using card marking, false shuffles, deck switching, false deals, and more! Use your ill-gotten gains to buy your way into the closed world of high-stakes tables,” reads the game description.

Developing the game is Nerial, an indie outfit that has released Pikuniku and the Reigns series of titles in the past. Reigns has become a rather beloved set of card games which even managed to snag the Game of Thrones licence back in 2018.

It’s clear that Nerial knows how to make card games so we’re excited to see what this latest title can do.

For those who still don’t have a sense of what the game has to offer, worry not as a free demo for Card Shark is available on both PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. There’s also a 15 percent discount on purchases which ends on 2nd June.
