Matric rewrites enter second week

Last week the May / June 2022 Matric examination rewrites began with almost 300K students sitting down to write papers again.

The first week of exams seems to have gone by rather smoothly as we now enter into the second week of proceedings.

As a reminder the timetable for these exams has seven weeks of papers with the final ones written on Thursday 23rd June.

Below is the schedule for the next seven days of exams with the full version available on the government website here as a PDF. This version includes the entire schedule for all seven weeks of rewrites.

There’s quite a mix here with everything from Mathematics to Dance Studies, an even languages, including South African Sign Language.

Most exams are three hours long with with the exceptions of the language exams as well as accounting which are instead two hours.

Monday 16th May 

  • 09:00 – Engineering Graphics and Design P1.
  • 14:00 – Mathematics P2  | Mathematical Literacy P2 | Technical Mathematics P2.

Tuesday 17th May 

  • 09:00 – Spot and Exercise Science.
  • 14:00 – Geography (Climate and Weather, Geomorphology and Map Work).

Wednesday 18th May 

  • 09:00 – Design.
  • 14:00 – Accounting P1.

Thursday 19th May 

  • 09:00 – South African Sign Language HL P1.
  • 14:00 – isiZulu, isiXhosa, Siswati, isiNdebele HL P1 / FAL P1 / SAL P1 | Sepedi, Sesotho, Setswana, Xitsonga, Tshivenda HL P1 / FAL P1 / SAL P1.

Friday 20th May 

  • 09:00 – Dance Studies.
  • 14:00 – Physical Sciences (Physics) | Technical Sciences.
