Stellaris: Overlord snatches second on Steam top seller list

The expansion Stellaris: Overlord has managed to break into the Steam top seller list in second after its launch last week on 12th May.

We usually see games, and expansions, make it onto the list in their launch window with Rogue Legacy 2 doing something similar and coming in third last week.

“[Stellaris: Overlord] brings with it many new features designed to unlock the next level of your Empire. Experience new Origins, build new Megastructures, interact with new Enclaves, and Specialize your Vassals’ role within your Empire!” a description of the expansion reads.

Its success wasn’t enough to dethrone the Steam Deck, however, which continues its dominance with yet another week in the number one spot.

Also a familiar site near the top is Elden Ring which continues to draw in sales far after its release date. As we discussed recently this titan of a game will likely continue this success all the way to awards shows at the end of the year.

This list comes, as always, from Steam Database (SteamDB), an unofficial tracker of Valve’s store that reports on the top selling games from the past week based on revenue.

  1. Steam Deck
  2. Stellaris: Overlord
  3. ELDEN RING
  4. The Forest
  5. We Were Here Forever
  6. Songs of Conquest
  7. Valve Index VR Kit
  8. MONSTER HUNTER RISE
  9. Red Dead Redemption 2
  10. Red Dead Redemption 2

Looks at the rest of the list and there are other familiar names with the Valve Index kit appearing regularly, but many of the other entries need some explanation has to how they were successful over the last seven days.

It seems that sales drove purchases of several of these games up and some are still discounted at the time of publication. The Forest (70 percent off), We Were Here Forever (10 percent off) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (50 percent off) are all still on sale.
