Highlights from the 2022 Xbox and Bethesda Showcase

On Sunday evening Xbox together with its recently acquired property, Bethesda, showcased what the next year from the pair holds.

It was a busy event with announcements and previews taking up over 90 minutes, as such there is a lot to go through and rather than drown you in trailers we’ve selected our favourites from the show. If you want to watch the full show we’ve embedded it below.

For those who just want the highlights however, these were our favourites.

Oh and of course, all of these titles will be coming to Game Pass.

Starfield has our attention

After the absolute disaster that was Fallout 76, we aren’t afraid to say that news of Starfield was concerning. Was Bethesda simply going to reskin Fallout/Elder Scrolls once more for a new IP?

On Sunday we saw our first taste of gameplay and while Bethesda’s DNA is here to see, it’s with a new lick of paint.

Forza Motorsport returns in 2023

As much as we adored Forza Horizons 5, we’ve been itching to do some track racing. On that front Turn 10 is eyeing a “Spring 2023” release which translates into around April/May next year.

This is said to be the most technically advanced racing game made and from the trailer, we are cautiously optimistic.

Scorn finally arrives this year

Remember Scorn? The game that looked like it was plucked directly from the mind of HR Giger?

Well it received some showtime on Sunday evening as well as a release date. You can play this nightmarish game about a civilization that has been laid to waste on 21st October and yes, it will be playable day one on Game Pass.

There was a Diablo IV update, if you care

While Blizzard sows bad blood with Diablo Immortal, it’s soon-to-be owner used its showcase to tease Diablo IV.

We get a look at some gameplay and features of the game such a character customisation, the open world and how you’ll be spending your time. It looks intriguing, but we’re holding off our excitement for now.

Redfall looks promising

The next big title from Arkane is co-operative vampire shooter Redfall. This was showed off at E3 2021 but now we have some gameplay and it looks, promising. Each character has different abilities that help push back the Vampire hordes.

The execution of Redfall will be everything as team-based shooters tend to live or die on how engaging they are. Redfall is scheduled to be out in 2023.
