Make your PC weep with a 4K 240Hz monitor from Samsung

Are you in the market for a monitor that will likely warrant a GPU upgrade? Then there’s great news from Samsung in that regard.

The South Korean electronics maker has unveiled a new slew of Odyssey monitors for 2022 and the highlight is a 32inch beast.

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G85NB (2022 and monitor naming conventions still suck) is a 32 inch monitor from Samsung that boasts a 4K (3840 x 2160p) resolution and a mind bending 240Hz refresh rate. The display also features a 1000R curve and support for Quantum HDR 2000.

According to Samsung, the G85NB covers up to 95 percent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut which is nice but this monitor is clearly designed for gaming and not content creation.

The display tech in use here is Samsung’s Quantum Mini LED technology which should offer great clarity and contrast.

The G85NB also makes use of AMD FreeSync Premium Pro so you can get the most out of the monitor while gaming.

The other monitor announced include the 32inch 4K 165Hz Odyssey Neo G75NB and the Odyssey G4 which is only FullHD but sports a 240Hz refresh rate. The Odyssey G4 is available in 25 and 27inch variants.

As for pricing and availability, Samsung has yet to share this information. Given that the 32 inch Samsung Odyssey G5 retails for R7 999 locally, we suspect the G85NB is going to cost quite a bit more.
