Qello is the music streaming platform I’ve been searching for

Something I miss from my misspent youth is the joy of watching a live performance from a musician who would likely never tour South Africa.

Being a fan of heavy metal, getting your hands on a live DVD from an obscure English extreme metal band from Suffolk was tough and costly. Now that we live in an age where you can stream anything you want something has been lacking from my subscription bouquet.

That something was Qello by Stingray or just Qello for our purposes.

This streaming platform features live concerts from a variety of artists across a range of genres. There are also a number of documentaries which really feel a lot like VH1’s Behind the Music series, albeit without the VH1 ads.

The selection of concerts by genre is rather limited but if you have varied taste, then this could make for a great subscription to add you your bouquet.

Thankfully, there is a way to check what is available here so you can see if there is enough to warrant a purchase.

On that front, Qello is not cheap at $11.99 per month. However, there is a seven-day trial you can sign up for that gives you access to the complete Qello catalogue.

That trial is a good opportunity to get acquainted with the user interface which is incredibly basic and what the service offers.

While Qello may not become something I use monthly, I can see myself starting it up for a month here and there during busy birthday months or when I get a hankering to watch concerts as old as I am.
