Resident Evil Village Winters’ Expansion DLC arrives 28th October, features playable Lady Dimitrescu

Last night Capcom held a showcase live stream to highlight some of the upcoming titles that the developer/publisher has in the works.

You can watch said live stream in the video embedded at the end of this story, but one announcement that piqued our interest was the Winters’ Expansion DLC for Resident Evil Village.

The new DLC was detailed by Capcom over on the PlayStation Blog, with it set to arrive across multiple platforms come 28th October. The DLC will feature three specific pieces of content that will be of interest to those who enjoyed the 2021 title.

Key among these are a new third-person mode for the main story, a short Shadows of Rose campaign and the ability to play as Lady Dimitrescu in the Mercenaries arcade shooter.

Regarding the latter, both Chris Redfield and Karl Heisenberg have been added to the mode, but it is of course the internet’s favourite tall vampire lady that will garner the most interest here.

As for the third-person mode, to harkens back to what the Resident Evil franchise is known for, and will offer us a new perspective, as well as a look at the back of Ethan Winters’ head.

Looking at the Shadows of Rose, Capcom says the following, “Players saw Rose as a baby in the main story of Resident Evil Village. This DLC will show her story of survival 16 years after the original campaign.”

“Rose’s journey takes her to a mysterious realm where memories of the past return to create a warped and twisted world of nightmares,” it adds.

Whether this sets up something for another Resident Evil title down the line remains to be seen, but it looks like the Winters family will be a key part of the franchise for a few years at least.

Lastly worth mentioning is when Winters’ Expansion arrives on 28th October, Capcom will also launch the delayed Re: Verse multiplayer.
