Logitech’s new Lift vertical ergonomic mouse will set you back R1400

Logitech has made a new peripheral available in South Africa in the form of a new Lift vertical ergonomic mouse.

This latest offering, which Logitech announced globally in April, is available to purchase locally this month, with recommended pricing listed at R1 400.

As such, the vertical ergonomic mouse does not come cheap.

With that in mind what is this new device sporting?

“The delightful, naturally contoured design is a great fit for small- to medium-sized hands and comes in three beautiful colorways: rose, off-white and graphite,” explains Logitech in a press release sent to Hypertext.

What precisely constitutes a medium-sized hand is unclear, but it looks like Logitech is aiming this device at those doing a lot of editing, design or creative work.

“Ergonomics and comfort play a vital role in overall workspace wellbeing. Building on our philosophy of when we feel better, we do better, we have created Lift to help people work in comfort for hours and feel better at the end of a long day at the desk,” adds Olessia Hageman, head of the ergo business unit at Logitech, regarding the Lift.

In terms of design elements, a soft rubber grip cozy thumb rest are present for comfort. There is also a 57-degree vertical design for both right and left-handed users, as well as taking pressure off the wrist while promoting a more natural forearm posture.

Other notable elements include a silent magnetic SmartWheel for more accurate or speedy scrolling when needed, along with support for a variety of operating systems like Windows, macOS, Linux, chromeOS, iPadOS and Android via Bluetooth Low Energy or USB receiver.

Lastly, the Lift takes a single AA battery that should yield up to 24 months of use before needing a change. A pricey peripheral, but one that has certainly been given a lot of time and attention from a design and features perspective.

We’ve reviewed a previous incarnation of this idea in the form of the Logitech MX Vertical. See our coverage of this unique mouse design here.
