Rick and Morty Season 6 opener available on 5th September locally on Netflix

There is a little over a week to go until the season six opening episode of Rick and Morty airs across the globe via Adult Swim. For those living in South Africa and wanting to watch the episode, the best place to do so legally is Netflix, as has been the case for more recent seasons.

The global premiere is Sunday evening, 4th September, Stateside (23:00 ET), with it then landing on Netflix to stream 24 hours later on Monday, 5th September.

Having garnered a cult like following in its early seasons which has since evolved into iconic status among more adult animated series, it would be fair to say that Rick and Morty is the current crown jewel in the Adult Swim/Cartoon Network empire.

Something that is not lost on all the people at those companies.

“It’s hard to overstate the impact of Rick and Morty. More than a hit show, it is truly a global phenomenon. As we prepare to launch this soon-to-be iconic season, we will be giving fans a unique way to be part of the fun – so keep your eyes peeled,” highlighted Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network.

Speaking as fans of the show ourselves, we are hoping that season six will deliver on much of the build that has happened in past seasons, especially as it pertains to evil Morty and his plans for the titular protagonists of the show. With eight episodes currently earmarked for this season, that hopefully means each one is jam packed.
