South African Power Rangers fans have reason to celebrate as Selwyn Ward will be here next month as a guest star at Comic Con Africa 2022.
“Selwyn Ward is an American actor known for his role of T.J. Johnson who was the second Red Turbo Ranger in Power Rangers Turbo and later became the Blue Space Ranger in Power Rangers in Space. Selwyn has also guest-starred as a legendary Ranger in other seasons, recently appearing in Power Rangers Megaforce and Power Rangers Ninja Steel,” reads a press release sent to us.
Turbo is a bit of a Marmite season of Power Rangers in the fandom for several reasons that we won’t get into now – lest we stir up the fandom – but Ward is generally beloved by the community and even more so by those who actually enjoyed Turbo.
Here at Hypertext we fall firmly into the “enjoyed Turbo” camp and now we’re looking for something for Ward to sign. If anyone has a Red Turbo helmet they’re willing to sell, let us know…
Comic Con Africa 2022 takes place between 22nd and 25th September at the Johannesburg Expo Centre. Ward will be appearing on all four days so keep that in mind if you’re planning out a schedule to attend.
