Relive the Harry Potter movies in LEGO stop motion

The official Wizarding World YouTube channel has recently uploaded something special for fans of Harry Potter and LEGO in the form of the video “Magical Movie Moments”.

Using familiar LEGO stop motion – or at least a simulation of it like the LEGO movies – the video touches on key moments from several of the films.

“All of our favorite Hogwarts Express scenes of Harry Potter on his magical journeys to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where friendships are made, chocolate frogs are eaten, dangers are lurking, and years fly by,” the description for the video reads.

“On this train journey, beginning at Platform 9 ¾, Harry meets lifelong friends in Hermione and Ron, they encounter a Dementor and try to uncover if Draco Malfoy is a Death Eater. When all seems lost, Looney Lovegood, I mean, Luna Lovegood wanders in on the lookout for Wrackspurts. After many years, Harry returns with his family for an epilogue,” it adds.

If this sounds familiar it’s because this video is, essentially, an advert for the LEGO set 76405: Hogwarts Express – Collectors’ Edition that released recently. This giant recreation of the famous train has 20 minifigures from the various films and dedicated train cars that recreate key scenes, as we see in the video.

Interestingly at the one minute 46 second mark in the video we get to see two other LEGO sets. The large brick-built hands seem to be those of set 76393 (large figures of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger) as well as 76399 (a magical school trunk that can be customised to fit one of the four Hogwarts Houses).

This makes it a bit of a combination advert for various sets but since those two go by so fast and require that the audience already knows of them, the focus is still on the Hogwarts Express.

Even for those with no interest in LEGO the video is still a fun jaunt through Harry Potter and worth the short watch.
