Trouble with the Unisa student portal? Tune into this webinar

New students at the University of South Africa (Unisa) – as well as any other students who needs help – are encouraged to join in a webinar tonight to teach them basic skills for myUnisa.

“myUnisa is Unisa’s academic student portal. As a registered student, you will use this portal to access valuable information, such as announcements, administration functions and your registered modules (myModules). To make your student experience at Unisa more enjoyable and accessible, we have upgraded the portal. To prepare you with the skills needed to navigate the portal, we will be hosting a series of student training webinars that will answer [your] questions,” the announcement reads.

The webinar is happening today, 2nd September 2022, between 18:00 and 20:00 local time. Anyone can join through Microsoft Teams but should note that it is broken up into Group 1 and Group 2.

The announcement makes no distinction between the two groups so they’re likely split up purely to keep each relatively small and ensure that the hosts can help everyone who attends.

According to this PDF from the university, this is the last of these types of webinars so it’s now or never to participate.

The livestream will focus on these questions about myUnisa and myModules:

  • How do I login to myUnisa?
  • What is myModules and how do I view myModules?
  • How do I view my badges in myModules?
  • How do I view my calendar and student profile?
  • How do I edit myModules preferences and view all my modules?
  • How do I access and navigate through my module content?
  • How do I submit my assignments and view my grades?
  • How do I send a direct message in myModules?
