Funding for studies is one of the biggest worries for those in higher education, especially for postgraduate endeavours which come with even higher costs. Because of this the University of Cape Town (UCT) is offering free consultations for postgrads.
The Postgrad Funding Office is accepting bookings under five different services:
- National Research Foundation (NRF) Connect systems consult
- Postdoctoral Fellowships
- Postgraduate Funding and UCT Financial Aid
- Postgraduate Fellowships and Scholarships
- NRF and Departmental Funding
Those seeking an appointment can make their booking here.
UCT doesn’t have its own site for this system, instead hosting the appointments through an online Microsoft Outlook system. This is worth keeping in mind for those visiting the link and finding the Microsoft site instead of uct.ac.za.
Also worth keeping in mind is an option to have the meeting online through Microsoft Teams instead of in person.
It’s interesting that the university has made this announcement today on Twitter – see the embed below – as, just yesterday, it put out a last minute call for applicants to a fellowship programme to grant R300 000 per year to postgrads.
Both avenues are worth keeping in mind for any students looking to further their studies.
