HPE launches regional hub in Dubai to serve UAE and Africa

  • Earlier this month Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) unveiled its new regional hub in Dubai.
  • The hub will service a new region for the company, with it addressing organisations in Emirates and Africa.
  • The regional hub will be led by Ahmad Alkhallafi, who previously held the position of MD at HPE in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Earlier this month, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced that it would be opening up a new regional hub in Dubai.

This new hub is set to serve organisation in the Emirates and Africa region for HPE, which should prove of benefit down the line as companies in Africa are often lumped together in the EMEA region, and often left out of the loop when it comes to new developments or initiatives.

“The new hub will bring together the United Arab Emirates (UAE) business with the Africa businesses, effective 1st November. The new organisation will be led by Ahmad Alkhallafi, who will oversee HPE’s operations within United Arab Emirates and the African Continent,” explained the company in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“Our new Emirates & Africa group gives us greater scale and brings together talent, expertise and investment to focus on the significant technology opportunities across the region. I am excited for what Ahmad can achieve in this expanded role,” added Marc Waters, MD for UK, Ireland, Middle East and Africa at HPE, regarding the hub.

Alkhallafi will be taking over his new role, having joined HPE in 2020 as the MD for the company in the UAE. HPE adds that in his new role, Alkhallafi will be responsible for teams located in the UAE and Africa, overseeing key initiatives to drive HPE’s engagement in the region.

“With the newly formed Emirates & Africa organisation we bring together different teams, share learnings and leverage the full breadth of HPE, built on the core foundations of collaboration, respect and trust in each other. This gives us a tremendous opportunity to transform our customer and partner experience and deliver exceptional outcomes,” he noted on his appointment and the future of the hub.

Here’s hoping projects in Africa get the attention they deserve moving forward from HPE now that the regional hub is up and running.
