  • The company specialises in digital education technology and already has a presence in the US, the UK and Kenya.
  • Snapplify has hired a new sales manager for the region as it looks to begin building its West Africa team.

South African edutech group Snapplify has announced an expansion into West Africa, leading with a turn towards African tech hub Nigeria.

A digital education solution provider, Snapplify specialises in enabling digital learning via one of the largest digital education marketplaces in Africa, its own. The company says that “thousands of educational institutions across Africa use Snapplify every day to teach, learn, and access educational content.”

Snapplify is also making sure to grow its local team in the region, recently appointing Doyin Shonubi (most recently the director, professional development and assessment at Pearson Nigeria) as its sales manager for West Africa. The company also has offices across South Africa, as well as Kenya, Europe, the UK and the US.

Established in Cape Town in 2012, Snapplify has already brought its digital learning to students in the West Africa region with “hundreds of registrations by educational institutions.”

According to a press release sent to Hypertext, the company will be “investing heavily” in the region as part of its “commitment to increase access to digital education.”

“Schools and tertiary institutions are looking for high-quality education tools that are relevant and appropriate for their region,” said Snapplify CEO Wesley Lynch.

The company claims it has the largest network of booksellers in Africa and is home to Africa’s largest community of teachers. The company is partnered with hundreds of publishers to ensure that institutions and students have access to curriculum-aligned content.

“Collaboration and partnership have always been a key part of Snapplify’s success story and our ability to drive meaningful change,” added Lynch.

“We are looking forward to connecting with more local players to empower even more West African educational institutions and students with everything they need to teach and learn.”

Educational institutions can register to have access to Snapplify’s digital education tools here.
