Tarsus On Demand is on the hunt for a new chief executive officer following the announcement that current CEO, Anton Herbst is resigning.

Anton Herbst, CEO at Tarsus On Demand and Tarsus Technology Group.

Appointed as Tarsus On Demand CEO in 2017, Herbst was recently appointed as the CEO of Tarsus Technology Group (TTG) in 2021. Make no mistake, the man has been a part of Tarsus (formerly MB Technologies Group) since 2000 and while his tenure as CEO of the group was brief, he has left an indelible mark on the distributor and the local technology sector.

“My working relationship with Anton goes back more than two decades over which time I have developed a great respect for him. His contribution has always been insightful, regardless of the situation and it has been a pleasure to work with him over this time. We’ll continue to see Anton around the TTG offices as he will be consulting for TTG for the foreseeable future and he’ll no doubt continue to add value,” says CEO of Alviva Holdings, Pierre Spies.

Given this departure, TTG is now searching for a replacement CEO and as such Herbst is only set to officially resign on 31st January 2023. In other Tarsus managerial news, chief commercial officer for Tarsus Distribution, Gary Pickford has been appointed managing director of the division.

According to a press release, Herbst is resigning to oversee a Tutor Doctor franchise he has an interest in.

“It’s been an eye-opening two decades with the Group. We have seen the rate of change increase exponentially and at the same time, opportunities created for the channel and cloud business that we couldn’t imagine in 2001, when I started with ACT (Advanced Channel Technologies),” Herbst said.

“Working with the phenomenal individuals within Tarsus Distribution, Tarsus On Demand and the shared services component of the Group has been my real reward. The Group has so many talented people who have contributed to my life and experiences in so many positive ways. I think it’s the people that I will miss the most,” the departing CEO added.

As for Herbst’s replacement, TTG says it is in the process of selecting a new CEO for Tarsus On Demand and an announcement will be made once details are finalised.
