ExploreAI Academy offering three data science bursaries

  • We have seen an interest in data science boom in recent years locally, with it being christened one of the “jobs of the future” buy many.
  • For those wanting a qualification in this field, ExploreAI Academy has been offering short- and long-term courses in recent years.
  • Now the organisation is offering three bursaries for next year in either data science or data engineering.

Last month ExploreAI Academy opened up for applications to its data science and data engineering courses for 2023. Now the organisation has detailed three bursaries for next year to those who may be interested in the field, but cannot afford to pay for the course.

“Explore AI Academy, Africa’s leading data science academy, is offering a free data science or data engineering course to three creative and resourceful applicants in 2023. Each course is valued at R70 000,” it explained in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“For ambitious and talented young people, this is the chance of a lifetime to change their future career trajectory through training as a data scientist or data engineer,” added Pete Kropman, head of growth for ExploreAI.

In order to stand a chance to win one of the three bursaries, you will need to register with ExploreAI. Said registrations for this offer close at midnight on 9th January 2023, so there is still plenty of time to do so.

There is also a competition element to this offer, with entrants encouraged to gain as many referrals to enter as well. There is no indication on whether the most referrals will guarantee selection, but it looks like the more the better in ExploreAI’s view.

“Creativity is key here – using their social media networks and contacts with friends, colleagues, associates and family, they will encourage other ambitious potential data scientists to follow their example and enter too,” continued Kropman.

The 2023 courses start 16th January, but if this bursary contest is not your thing, you can check out all the offerings from the organisation here.
