Xiaomi set to open second physical store in Cape Town soon

  • Last month Xiaomi opened its first physical store in the country, with it opening in Sandton City, Johannesburg.
  • Now the brand is preparing to expand its retail footprint, with a new store opening in Cape Town.
  • Said store is set to open next week, as Xiaomi looks to make an impact during the peak of the festive period.

Xiaomi has been making some serious moves locally of late, having recently ramp up its look of smartphones and other electronics in South Africa.

This culminated with its first physical store in the country opening up last month, and now Xiaomi is preparing to expand its retail footprint, with a second store destined for Cape Town.

“Making smart products more accessible, to make people’s lives easier and more convenient, is being realised thanks in part to the new physical stores in Cape Town and Johannesburg,” it noted in a press release sent to Hypertext.

Said store is set to be opened on 16th December, with the brand also launching a series of specials to incentive customers during the peak of the festive shop[ping period. The second store is located at Shop 82 at Canal Walk Shopping Centre.

“The official launch is to give everyone the opportunity to make their way to the store to celebrate this milestone of the brand as well as take advantage of the amazing opening specials,” Xiaomi explained.

“These include 50% off select items, 10% off other select items, and a free Mi Band 5, valued at R699, with any smartphone purchased in-store. All of these specials are for one day only (on 16 December) and are valid while stocks last,” it added regarding the opening specials on offer.

If you are wanting to keep up to date on said deals and offers, Xiaomi advises following its social media channels on Twitter and Facebook to stay in the loop.
