Openserve announces fibre speed upgrades from 1st April

  • Openserve has announced that it will increase fibre speeds for its customers at the beginning of April.
  • This applies to both its Fibre Connect and Web Connect offerings.
  • Increases range from 25Mbps to 100Mbps, depending on the current speed of the fibre line.

This is not an preemptive April Fool’s announcement, but Openserve has confirmed that it is planning an upgrade of customer fibre line speeds from the 1st of April 2023.

The network provider said this latest move is designed to showcase the organisation’s commitment to providing a high-quality and reliable service to its channel partners and users of its network.

“As a trusted connectivity partner for South African businesses and households for decades, our fibre speeds upgrade is one of the many ways Openserve keeps up with the latest technology in the telecommunications industry. We believe that by upgrading our speeds, end-users will have an even better experience of our fibre network,” said Phila Dube, CCO at Openserve, in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“This upgrade is part of our ongoing commitment in partnership with our Internet Service Provider partners, to offer fibre end-users the best value and make fibre accessible to all South Africans,” he added.

The fibre upgrades apply to both of Openserve’s Fibre Connect and Web Connect products.
