PlayStation reveals five upcoming VR titles for the PS VR2

  • Last night PlayStation live streamed its latest State of Play, showcasing upcoming gaming titles and projects.
  • The stream kicked off with a series of announcements for the PS VR2, including five new games scheduled for release in 2023.
  • Some of the newly announced games will be exclusive to the PS VR ecosystem.

Last night, at 22:00 to be precise, PlayStation delivered a near one-hour long live stream for its latest State of Play event. While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was one of the main attractions during the State of Play, the stream kicked off with a series of announcements for the PS VR2.

With the new headset having officially launched globally this week, there are now a further five titles slated to arrive for the gaming headset in 2023. This adds to the nearly 30 games that have been earmarked for the PS VR2 during its initial launch window.

The five new games are:

Trailers for all five games can be found below, but looking through them there seems to be a decent amount of variety on the cards.

The Foglands for example is a stylised sci-fi western, Green Hell VR is a jungle survival game (unsure if they go full Bear Grylls), Synapse (seen in the header image) features lots of dual-wielding gameplay, and Journey To Foundation is based on the work of Isaac Asimov.

As such, there will be a few different options to mull over.

We say this as no precise release dates have been mentioned for the games, with the blanket window of 2023 being outlined. Hopefully, though there aren’t many delays, as the greater variety of titles there are for the PS VR2, the better.

Hit play on the trailers below and see which one piques your interest.
