Alienware debuts a host of new peripherals for 2023

  • Earlier this week Alienware revealed a new lineup of peripherals that are scheduled to release in the coming months.
  • These include two new wireless headsets, a wireless mouse, and the company’s first-ever wireless gaming keyboard.
  • No pricing is mentioned yet, but the new peripherals are expected between the end of March and mid-May.

This week Alienware showcased its latest lineup of peripherals, many of which are slated to launch on our shores in the coming months. The new offerings include two wireless gaming headsets, a wireless sculpted mouse and the brand’s first-ever wireless gaming keyboard.

At the time of writing, local availability and pricing for the new peripherals are yet to be detailed, but they are expected to be shared closer to release for individuals products, which will be between the end of March and late-May this year.

So what’s new?

Let’s start with the two wireless gaming headsets – the AW720H and AW520H.

The AW720H is the better specced of the two, and features dual mode connectivity. This means it can connect wireless to PCs via a USB Type-C dongle, and compatible gaming consoles via a traditional 3.5mm jack. Added to this is hi-res audio delivered by 40mm drivers, AI noise cancelling microphone, and up to 30 hours of battery life.

As for the AW520H, it packs many of the same features, but lacks the dual-mode connectivity, working only on wired connection.

Moving onto the sculpted right-handed AW620M gaming mouse. The 2.4GHz USB Type-C dongle wireless connection on this peripheral offers up to 140 hours of battery life. Other features include Alienware’s edge sensor technology and magnetic-force L/R keyplates. There’s up to 26 000 DPI, 650 IPS, and 50G max acceleration, for those wondering about its responsiveness.

Lastly we’re touching on the AW920K wireless gaming keyboard (seen in the header). This new offering boasts tri-mode connectivity, which Alienware unpacks as:

  1. “Experience responsive wireless PC gaming performance using the 2.4GHz wireless USB-C dongle – deploy the convenient dongle extender to have the receiver closer to the keyboard for maximum reception.
  2. Connect up to three different compatible devices via Bluetooth 5.1 – select the active paired device or the 2.4GHz connection using the selection button on the back of the keyboard.
  3. Plug in and play on your PC using the detachable USB paracord cable.”

In terms of battery life, up to 42 hours is yielded via dongle connection, and up to 46 hours via Bluetooth.

Unlike the other offerings here, it is unclear when the AW920K will land in SA and for how much, but we will share those details once confirmed by Alienware locally.
