Go small and light with Romoss power banks

As we get deeper into 2023 the humble power bank continues to be a modern necessity: for those of us at home it is your best friend for getting through loadshedding, and when you’re out of the house it is equally important for those extended periods between visits to the plug.

With the pandemic continually in the rear view mirror and travel creeping up the list for many to enjoy, taking your power bank with you for trips locally or overseas further cements their importance.

As with all things in life, however, your choice of power bank is a juggling act of pros and cons which we covered in detail recently using the excellent Romoss examples to illustrate just how much capacity you really need.

For those on the go lighter is better, but, thanks to Romoss, you don’t have to sacrifice too much capacity for a lightweight power bank that still packs plenty of charge.

We’re coming at you with personal experience here as we’ve been using a 20 000mAh Romoss battery bank for three years now and we’re confident that this capacity, from this manufacturer, is the best intersection of size, capacity, price and quality.

Take two battery banks from Romoss for example. For those who like an all black aesthetic, consider the PPD20 20 000mAh 50W Power Bank. Those who prefer white should instead check out the Sense 6F 20 000mAh QC 22.5W Power Bank.

Both offer a 20 000mAh capacity which will get you several charges of a mobile device before the power bank itself needs to be charged. Both examples we’re looking at today even have multiple output ports, which means that you can charge more than one device at a time.

This is how we routinely use our power bank bank: one USB port is dedicated to a phone or tablet while the other provides power to a portable light source. This setup allows us to keep working, relaxing and staying lit up when the lights are turned off. The 20 000mAh capacity carries us through several loadshedding blocks with no hassle before the power bank itself needs a charge, which can then be done when the loadshedding is over.

Despite the large capacity, both of these power banks are small and light. Both the black and white options are less than 500 grams, making it easy to carry around the house or chuck into a bag when you need to leave.

Aside from colour each also comes with its own party tricks. The black PPD20, for example, supports 50W quick charging while the white Sense 6F supports 22.5W quick charging. One is faster than the other, but this really is a case of a use basis and what your budget allows. If you mainly use your power bank for non-time sensitive tasks like the lighting we mentioned, then you likely don’t need the faster charging. If you’re mainly using your power bank away from home, where you may not have all the time to charge up, then the faster quick charging pays for itself.

What’s great about Romoss is that its power bank range features dozens of options to suit these needs. Even in the space of the small and light options, there’s a lot to choose from, and you can shop the Romoss range from the familiar online pages of Takealot right now.
