htxt.africast – Government’s plaster over the loadshedding wound

The africast is back for the first edition of March 2023 – proudly sponsored by Hisense – as we discuss the short term solutions government has for loadshedding that may result in disaster later on.

Before we get to our main topic we start with other governmental problems, this time with the Post Office which has had to close almost a hundred locations due to non-payment of rent. As SAPO has struggled so much in the past attempting to do the bare minimum, this cannot bode well for the country as a whole.

On to more positive things and MultiChoice has entered a partnership with Comcast’s NBCUniversal and Sky to bring even more content to the streaming service. This is still in early stages so we will have to see if this ends up offering a better or worse deal for subscribers.

Lastly for our smaller sections we discuss Creed III which just launched today. Our full story as well as all the other stories we discussed this week can be found in the list below, but we give you the bit size version of what we thought of this latest entry in the Creed / Rocky franchise.

Our main topic this week is the Disaster Management regulations for the energy crisis in South Africa, AKA loadshedding. It seems that government is throwing all environmental concerns to the wind in the hopes of generating as much power as fast as possible with no worries about the future of the country.
