LG’s award-winning S95QR Sound Bar lands in SA

  • LG is bringing some new sound bars into SA, led by its award-winning S95QR.
  • This sound bar is recommended to retail for R22 999, supporting Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and IMAX Enhanced.
  • Joining the S95QR are three more affordable options with the S75Q, S65Q, and SQC1 also available.

If you are in the market for a new sound bar, LG recently announced the local availability of four, which is led by its award-winning S95QR that the South Korean company debuted last year.

The S95QR is the flagship model in this quartet, commanding a similarly premium price tag at R22 999 (RRP). In terms of its award-winning features, this sound bar boasts support for a number of home cinema technologies, including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and IMAX Enhanced.

Added to this is 9.1.5 channel audio, 810W of power, and triple up-firing channels. This system also features two 3-way rear up-firing speakers and a powerful subwoofer.

“The 3-way rear speaker kit delivers 6 channels of sound and offers a wider soundstage, with sound covering an impressive 135 degrees,” notes LG in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“The wireless subwoofer and larger built-in woofer have no trouble hitting those low notes thanks to increased volume, sound pressure, and bass quality transmitted over longer distances. You’ll feel and hear stronger, deeper, more resonant bass in your favourite songs and movies,” it adds.

As for the other three options, the 380W S75Q Sound Bar (R8 999 RRP) has 3.1.2 channel audio and two up-firing Dolby Atmos speakers. The 420W S65Q Sound Bar (R6 999 RRP) has 3.1 channel audio, which LG says is great for movie watching and listening to music. Lastly, the 160W LG SQC1 Sound Bar (R2 999 RRP) is designed as a compact option for those with limited space.
