DJI enterprise is where business and government meet

Despite their immense popularity, cutting edge complexity and modern ubiquity, the world of drones still flies against the headwind of misconception every day, especially in the realm of enterprise.

The purveying misconception seems to be that drones are reserved only for specialised tech companies with already trained employees that can make use of drones, or governments with limitless, country-sized budgets.

Neither of these are true as DJI enterprise has proven. Through DJI enterprise the well-known drone company has created and fostered drone solutions for companies and governments of all sizes, budgets and skill levels.

One of DJI enterprise’s most versatile platforms is the DJI Matrice 300 RTK, a drone we introduced readers to recently. This drone has already proved itself with businesses and governments the world over. From helping the government fight fires in Australia to inspecting powerlines for the company Bouygues EnerTrans AG in Switzerland, it has a proven track record of success.

Just as business and government can unite through DJI enterprise, so can two pilots unite to operate one Matrice 300 RTK Drone.

Advanced Dual Operator Mode is a powerful feature on this drone which allows two pilots to take turns operating one drone. The applications for this feature – like much of the offerings on the DJI Matrice 300 RTK – are numerous and really open the floor to unique problem solving for your specific situation.

For example one of the biggest benefits to drones is their eye in the sky giving people on the ground a better view of any given situation. Despite this power feet on the ground are still paramount and Advanced Dual Operator Mode lets you take advantage of this. Think of a disaster / rescue situation in a dense urban, jungle or otherwise cluttered environment.

Advanced Dual Operator Mode allows for two pilots to investigate their immediate surroundings for rescue efforts, swapping control of an overhead drone as they go. In this way the effective search area is greatly increased and can leverage both the drone’s cameras and the pilot’s vision.

The DJI Matrice 300 RTK’s remote controller has a maximum transmitting distance of between eight and 15 kilometres, so the two pilots can be quite far apart from each other while still maintaining control. The safety features built into the drone also mean that this can be done without fear of losing connection, as failsafes such as Return to Home (RTH) are present should one or both pilots not be able to take control.

We can even see Advanced Dual Operator Mode being used by both government and business at the same time. In training, members from either side can use this feature to guide newer pilots, just like aircrafts have two sets of controls which help veterans train the next generation.

In more serious applications or times of crisis, business and government can share a drone to tackle unique obstacles, such as a governmental employee having access to fly over airspace while a civilian would not, allowing the two to swap back at a later stage. While maybe a fringe application, Advanced Dual Operator Mode is a feature that is always there should you need it in the future.
