TECNO debuts new Spark 10 series locally

  • TECNO has announced three new phones for SA as part of the company’s Spark 10 series.
  • The company teased the impending arrival of five new devices for the country earlier this month.
  • The Spark 10 series also features a 5G model, but precise availability and pricing are yet to be confirmed.

Last week we wrote about TECNO, which was planning to release five new smartphones in South Africa in the coming weeks. True to its word, four have now been launched in SA, with a 5G model also on the way for later in the year.

The new devices are led by the Spark 10 series, which is TECNO’s premium mid-range offering for the local market.

Right now, leading the pack is the Spark 10 Pro, which is accompanied by the Spark 10C, as well as a 5G model of the former. At the time of writing, TECNO has not confirmed local availability or pricing for the Spark 10 Pro, but the device is indeed earmarked for this market in the near future.

Recommended pricing for the 10 Pro and 10C are R6 999 and R3 499 respectively. As for the other two devices being brought to our shores, they are the SPARK GO 2023 and POP 7.

Looking closer at the 10 Pro, TECNO has highlighted a number of features on the device, paying particular attention to its selfie capabilities.

“The SPARK 10 Pro features adjustable dual flash on the 32MP ultra-clear front camera, allowing the young generation to showcase the best in them and glow as they are,” it noted in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“Powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 gaming processor, the SPARK 10 Pro comes with a massive 16GB RAM (8GB+8GB extended) and 256GB ROM, geared up to elevate its performance in all aspects. It also features a hard-wearing, starry glass back panel, resulting in a premium look and a comfortable feel. All these new additions make the SPARK 10 Series the ultimate high-performance selfie phone in its price range,” the company added.

As mentioned these new devices have launched in SA, with the exception of the Spark 10 Pro 5G, so those interested in purchasing one or indeed finding out what else TECNO has available locally, can head here.
