Fans roast first cover for EA Sports FC 24

  • An announcement trailer and game cover have been released for EA Sports FC 24, with the latter being mocked online for the look of certain players.
  • A full gameplay reveal for EA Sports FC 24 is slated for 13th July at 18:30 local time.
  • This is the first football title that EA Sports will release without partnering alongside FIFA.

Later this week, 13th July at 18:30 local time to be more precise, EA will be releasing a full gameplay livestream for its highly anticipated EA Sports FC 24 title.

The football game is more notable than in past years as it is the first title that EA will release sans a partnership with FIFA, after the pair decided to part ways last year. As such, many are wanting to see what EA has cooked up now that it is no longer beholden to FIFA, but the early showings are not filling people with confidence.

This as the official game cover was released earlier this week, and fans of the franchise did not hold back in sharing their thoughts regarding the look of some of the players on the cover. The likes of Andrea Pirlo and Ronaldinho, who will be a part of the game as icons, as well as current Arsenal player Bakayo Saka and Borussia Dortmund’s Youssouffa Moukoko have been highlighted as looking particularly odd.

Hopefully this is simply the result of a poorly drawn or rendered cover, and the look of the players in-game will be far more impressive and realistic.

Before the full reveal on 13th July, EA Sports also shared an announcement trailer, which you can see below. This piece of media is far more promising than the cover, although as many people online have pointed out, the absence of past FIFA cover stars Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Kylian Mbappe, is rather curious.

Either way this first outing for EA without FIFA in the background will be an interesting prospect. Here’s hoping this week’s full reveal will detail some new elements for the game, which has felt a little stale in recent years.
