• Many of the improvements made to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Fold5 are to the durability and performance of the handset.
• Not much has changed as regards camera sensors and display sizes apart from the Flex Window of the Z Flip5.
• Both handsets will become available for pre-order on 11th August.

On Thursday Samsung drew back the curtain and revealed the latest smartphones in its Fold and Flip series.

The firm has made a number of improvements to these handsets although not all of them will be immediately visible. The Galaxy Z Fold5 for instance still has the same Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X 7.6inch display inside with a 6.2 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display on the cover.

Internally it’s the same for the Galaxy Z Flip5 which still has a 6.7inch Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. However, the Flex Window has been enlarged from 1.9inches in the Z Flip4 to 3.4inches in the Z Flip5.

The glass in both handsets has been upgraded as well with both now featuring Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Both foldables also now boast an IPX8 rating which means they should stand up to a splash or accidental spill.

Pre-orders open on 11th August for both the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 with both handsets becoming available on 25th August.
