  • Digify Africa’s Digital General Practitioner programme is set to kick off in August, with applications for the initiative closing on 12th July.
  • The Digital General Practitioner (Digital GP) programme is aimed at giving youth in the Northern Cape in-demand skills.
  • The free digital marketing programme is aimed at unemployed youth aged 18 to 30 in the province.

Digify Africa is issuing a last call for applications to its Digital General Practitioner programme. The closing date is 12th July, with details on how to apply found here.

The Digital GP programme is aimed at unemployed youth in the Northern Cape aged 18 to 30, as Digify Africa partnered with STANLIB to announce the initiative late last year.

The programme officially kicks off on 7th August and will run until 20th October 2023, where those participating will be taught in-demand digital marketing skills they can use to access earning opportunities in related industries.

“This free digital marketing programme is aimed at unemployed youth aged 18-30 years, and covers critical digital marketing skills such as social media management, content marketing, paid advertising, digital entrepreneurship, and more,” Digify Africa explained in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“Digify GPs combines theoretical and practical training to build competency in various areas of digital marketing. Expert trainers will deliver the training over eight weeks through in-person and online sessions. Participants will be tested through weekly assessments and get to work on live briefs to test their knowledge. At the end of their training, participants must write an exam to earn their digital marketing certificate of completion,” the company added.

The programme also includes a two-week course focused on job readiness, where graduates receive further training. This is then followed by a six-week post-training support initiative where graduates will receive assistance securing internships and freelancing opportunities with potential employers via Digify Africa’s Marketplace platform.
