  • The company, which is based in Asia, focuses on wireless peripherals in particular.
  • Rapoo is planning to increase its presence in SA, as well as introduce new products to market in future.

Are you familiar with Rapoo? Well the company, which is based in Asia, specialises in manufacturing wireless peripherals for the office, content creation, and gaming.

Having sold some of its devices in South Africa to date, Rapoo has now announced a new partnership with local game distributor Prima Interactive.

“This strategic collaboration aims to lead the South African gaming peripheral market with high-end products and competitive pricing, while expanding Rapoo’s brand presence in the retail space,” the peripheral maker explained in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“At Rapoo we value the power of partnerships, seeking value and performance for our customers, suppliers, and partners. That’s why I firmly believe that Prima Interactive is the ideal match for us. We have dedicated considerable time to selecting the perfect distribution partner, and with the upcoming launch of our flagship wireless gaming range, the timing couldn’t be more perfect. We are absolutely delighted,” enthused the company’s expressed regional manager, Rob Anderson.

Rapoo says it’s now planning to increase its presence in SA with some soon-to-be-announced products for local release, with its V branded products in particular getting a mention.

“The V Gaming products are tried and tested by the best in competition, we are thrilled to be able to offer these products to South Africans,” highlighted CEO of Prima Interactive, Ian Hepplewhite.

It will be interesting to see how Rapoo will be received locally now that it is partnering with Prima Interactive, but the ability to have more choice will always be welcome from South African consumers.
