Sasol to host 21st edition of STEM jobs fair

  • Energies firm Sasol will host the 21st edition of its TechnoX career exhibition in August of this year, held virtually or in person at Sasolburg, Free State.
  • The event will connect learners and educators with industry leaders showcasing exciting career opportunities in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and maths.
  • Sasol TechnoX will be completely free of charge for attendees.

In order to reach learners in South Africa with exciting and innovative future career possibilities, global energies firm Sasol is set to host its latest edition of the Sasol TechnoX career exhibition.

The event, its 21st edition, will take place from 14th to 18th August 2023 and is set to provide an immersive and hands-on experience for learners, showcasing the diverse disciplines and opportunities offered by the science, mathematics, and technology fields.

“Sasol TechnoX aims to instil in young individuals the realisation that they can be the catalysts for change and shape the world through limitless possibilities in STEAMI careers and innovation,” reads a press release sent to Hypertext.

“STEAMI” in this case is an acronym for “Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths, and Innovation”

“The event emphasises the critical role of empowering young people to actively participate in the digital world and the development of green economies, becoming agents of positive change in their communities and beyond,” Sasol continues.

TechnoX will be hosted using a hybrid approach, so people who can’t attend in person can still participate in the goings-on. The in-person event itself will be at Sasolburg, Free State. Over 40 STEAMI exhibitors will be taking part in the showcase, and attend captivating talks and interactive demonstrations.

The event is aimed at learners, educators and STEM enthusiasts from across South Africa to connect and learn from experts in the industry.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the 21st year of Sasol TechnoX, a flagship event dedicated to inspiring and empowering the next generation of innovators,” says Noxolo Kahlana, Head of the Sasol Foundation.

“With our immersive experiences, engaging activities, and diverse exhibitors, we aim to foster a passion for STEAMI education and equip learners with the skills and mindset to shape a brighter and greener future for South Africa.”

Sasol TechnoX is completely free for participants to attend. Sasol Foundation says that by eliminating financial barriers, the event ensures that every learner has equal access to the transformative opportunities provided by the exhibition.

“As Sasol TechnoX celebrates its 21st year of excellence, it highlights its longstanding commitment to promoting STEAMI education, fostering innovation, the adoption of digital skills, and inspiring young minds. This milestone signifies the enduring impact the event has had in nurturing talent and shaping the future of South Africa,” the firm concludes.
