TweetDeck is now officially XPro

  • After replying to one of his followers on X, Elon Musk has now rebranded the popular TweetDeck tool as XPro.
  • While it has not happened yet, XPro will soon require verification in order to access.
  • Soon it will be as if the Twitter name as a brand never existed.

We are now in the final days of TweetDeck, as the popular social media management tool is being rebranded as XPro.

The changes are already taking effect, with those who logged into TweetDeck this morning noting the XPro wording replacing the old name in certain areas. While the tool itself is changing its name, the url is still TweetDeck-related, and the legacy version of the dashboard is still up and running for now.

We say this as Twitter (now known as X) announced changes to how TweetDeck would work in early July, with the support team adding that in 30 days, only verified accounts would be able to access the tool.

By our estimations, that 30-day period will elapse on 3rd or 4th August this week, which means those logging into XPro in the coming days may get a nasty surprise if they do not possess a verified account.

As for how the XPro moniker came into being, Elon Musk’s obsession with the letter X is well documented, and shortly after changing Twitter’s branding, he did the same for other official support accounts on the platform.

When replying to a tweet last week, Musk mentioned the change in name, as well as the prospect of “psy op plugins” although it is not abundantly clear what he meant by that. Either way, less than a week later and XPro has begun to replace TweetDeck.

How Musk plans to get XPro for the url remains to be seen, especially as it currently belongs to a Spanish-speaking digital agency.

Either way, much like many of the changes that Musk has made to the platform in recent weeks, this latest one seems half-baked, and we would not be surprised to see XPro change to something else down the line, which is something that the Twitter owner has noted of the company’s divisive new logo.
