LG offers smart TV owners three free months of Apple TV+

  • LG has announced a new promotion involving Apple TV+, offering three free months of access to the streaming platform via compatible smart TVs.
  • The free three-month trial kicks off today and lasts until 12th November.
  • The promotion is available in 81 different countries, including South Africa, on selected 4K and 8K smart TV models.

If you purchased a 4K or 8K smart TV from LG within the past few years, you may want to take note of a new promotion that the South Korean company has announced in partnership with the Apple TV+ streaming platform.

To that end, LG is offering a three-month free trial of the streaming service via the native Apple TV+ on select models of smart TV. Namely 4K and 8K ones that were manufactured after 2018, according to LG.

The offer kicks off today and will run until 12th November, which by our napkin maths is not quite three full months, but 10 weeks of free access to a streaming platform that normally costs R124.99 per month, sounds like a good trial to us.

This especially when we consider some of the movies and series set to become available on the platform between now and 12th November.

“Highly anticipated feature films coming soon to Apple TV+ include Martin Scorsese’s acclaimed ‘Killers of the Flower Moon,’ ‘Napoleon,’ starring Academy Award winner Joaquin Phoenix from Academy Award nominated director Ridley Scott and produced by Scott and Academy Award nominee Kevin Walsh; the star-studded spy thriller ‘Argylle,’ with Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, Samuel L. Jackson and more,” highlighted LG in a press release sent to Hypertext.

Killers of the Flower Moon in particular is a film we’ve already earmarked to view later this year when it’s released in cinemas in October.
