• The prize pool for this year’s Carry1st VALZA Cup has been confirmed, with R75 000 going to the winning team.

South Africa’s largest Valorant tournament is taking place later this year in the form of the Carry1st VALZA Cup. The prize pool for this esports tournament has now been confirmed, with a share of R150 000 being up for grabs and the winning team nabbing half of that at R75 000.

The event is taking place at this year’s rAge 2023 expo at Gallagher Convention Centre, from 8th to 10th December.

“The top-performing teams will have their skills put to the test in VALORANT, with R75,000 going to the champions, R45,000 for the runners-up, R30,000 for third place, and R15,000 for the fourth-place team,” noted organisers in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“Moreover, the community’s involvement can further boost the prize pool, with R50,000 up for grabs through achieving community goals, including having 64 teams enter the competition, reaching live viewer milestones during the qualifier and the rAge Expo final broadcast, and creating a buzz on social media with the hashtag #VALZA,” they added.

The online qualifiers, for this upcoming tournament are currently open for registration, with the actual qualifiers set to take place place later this month from 28th October.

ACGL is handling the logistical elements of the tournament, where it will accommodate up to 64 teams. The organisation added that teams will need to navigate the group stages and a double-elimination bracket in order to secure one of the coveted top four spots for the Carry1st VALZA Cup.
