Xbox to showcase upcoming third-party titles tomorrow night

  • Xbox has announced that it will host a Partner Preview on 25th October, showcasing a bunch of upcoming titles.
  • Indie games in particular are set to feature, with 20 minutes of trailers and gameplay footage being touted.
  • We may also hear more about what the future of Xbox will be now that Activision Blizzard and King games have been added to the mix.

Tomorrow evening Xbox will showcase a number of upcoming titles from third-parties via its latest Partner Preview event.

Much like PlayStation’s State of Play or Nintendo Direct, the event offers insight into what is on the horizon, provides crucial updates as to the lineup of titles that will be on offer, as well as serve up some gameplay and trailers to build hype ahead of impending releases.

Xbox shared in a blog post yesterday that the Partner Preview will take place attached 19:00 SAST, with the company’s official YouTube channel being the best place to tune in tomorrow evening.

“This event will be digitally broadcast on Wednesday, October 25, at 10am PT (1pm ET / 6pm BST) across our Xbox owned channels, showcasing updates and new looks at games coming to Xbox and Windows as well as new info on some upcoming Game Pass titles from our incredibly talented creative third-party partners from around the world,” the post confirmed.

“You can expect to see the latest information on in-game activities for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, a launch trailer for Alan Wake 2, the first gameplay for Ark: Survival Ascendeda dive into the social world of Dungeons of Hinterberg, and more,” it added.

Xbox also made specific mention of indie games in the post, noting that 20 minutes of gameplay and trailer footage will be shared on the night, adding that studios like Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Remedy Entertainment, and Studio Wildcard will be on hand to reveal what they have been working on.

While there was no hint at it, we should see Xbox talk a little about its long-awaited acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which is now being finalised. Much has been made of what will happen to Activision Blizzard’s sizeable catalogue of games once the deal has been completed, so we may get more insight on that front.

Either way, it looks like Xbox is looking to build up some hype as we near the festive season.
