NAG, official broadcast partner of rAge 2023, have taken things to a whole new level this year, with a stand that promises to blow you away! rAge, the Really Awesome Gaming Expo, will be hosted at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand from 8th to 10thDecember, and NAG will be livestreaming the entire event, with more pizazz than ever before.  

“We want to bring rAge closer to the fans this year,” says Regardt van der Berg, the Editor at NAG. “We’ve partnered with a number of high-end brands, such as Outdoor Photo, Canon, Rode, and Blackmagic, to put cameras all around the event and to boost our livestreaming capabilities.” 

These partners were chosen by NAG to help elevate the live stream production and to bring a rAge live stream to the fans unlike anything South Africa has seen before. 

“We will be able to manage the whole production much more smoothly and it will look better than ever before,” says van der Berg. “Not only do we have some of the best hardware at our disposal this year, but we’ll be able to bring much more of the event to online viewers so you won’t just see what’s happening on the NAG stand, you’ll be able to see all the major attractions via the live stream.”  

The NAG live stream will also include far more one-on-one interviews with streamers, cosplayers, esports winners, and just fans in general. So, make sure you keep an eye on NAG for all the details closer to rAge.

Return of the NAG Mag

NAG is thrilled to announce the return of the South Africa’s longest running gaming publication, NAG Magazine, at this year’s event. Fans will be able to get their hands on the NAG Magazine at the stand, and upon purchase will automatically be entered into a draw to win a gaming rig (PC) valued at approximately R120 000. 

There will be 10 000 copies printed and each one will have a unique number ranging from 1 to 10 000, so your copy will be entirely your own. This unique number will also gain you immediate entry into various competitions and giveaways that NAG will be running. 

True to its roots, NAG Magazine: The Annual will give NAG fans something collectible, the perfect edition to any NAG Magazine collection. There will be loads of extras bundled with the magazine too so make sure you grab a copy at rAge or sign up for the pre-order on the NAG website.

The cover DVD is also back! This year it includes three exclusive game demos by South African developers, you’ll also find drivers, applications, and loads of hidden easter eggs for you to explore. These include hidden Steam vouchers and a secret time-limited message that will unlock a fantastic prize for the person who cracks it.

The ultimate racing simulator

Perhaps one of the most exciting parts of NAG’s stand this year is the exclusive display of the brand new Cooler Master Dyn X Dynamic Racing Experience Simulators, complete with actuators that move the rig around to better reflect a true racing experience. 

Fans can look forward to enjoying some epic motorsport gaming titles, such as Forza, Formula 1, Need for Speed, and many more. 

Streamer/Gaming Zones

The familiar sight of NAG’s gaming and streamer zones has not changed. The Gaming Zone will include 10 different PCs with a mix of retro, current, and brand-new games for attendees to peruse. 

A separate NAG Streamer Zone features four high-end rigs for those who want to stream their gameplay and be more involved with the audience. 

For those more interested in mobile gaming, NAG will have a Samsung phone plinth where you can try your hand at a range of mobile games. 

NAG will be handing out plenty of prizes to everyone who joins for these experiences, so don’t you dare miss out! 

Multiple Experience Zones

NAG is also partnering with Schick to introduce a whole new experience at their stand, where people can come for haircuts, banter, and chitchat. The Schick Experience Zone will be easily identifiable, thanks to the awesome Schick shaving bottle construction towering over the stand (keep your eyes peeled). A robot vacuum cleaner will be helping tidy things up and Schick are expecting to give away around R200 000 worth of goods.

Everyone who makes use of the Schick Experience will automatically be entered into a lucky draw for a second rig, this one valued at approximately R40 000. 

For those who prefer ink to scissors, the Tattoo Experience will be returning as well, run by the talented Beneath The Surface studio.

“NAG’s gaming tattoos was a huge hit last year, it attracted a lot of attention, so we’re excited to offer that again,” says Len Nery, NAG Magazine Director. “If you hang around the stand long enough, you’ll also see the NAG staff strapping down for some new tattoos too.”
