• realme continues to launch affordable smartphones in South Africa, with the latest being the C51.

In May of this year, smartphone brand realme announced its local arrival in the form of its affordability-focused C-series. Now the lineup has a new offering available in South Africa with the realme C51.

The latest offering is available to purchase in SA now, with it carrying a recommended price tag of R3 999. The brand says the realme C51 is available to purchase from the likes of Vodacom, MTN, and other local retailers, with more details on purchasing found here.

As with other devices in the C-series, this latest smartphone is aimed at delivering value for money.

“The arrival of the C51 in South Africa is part of realme’s ongoing bid to offer devices that combine premium specs, quality, and trendsetting design at an affordable price,” noted the company in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“We are excited to bring variety to this segment of the South African smartphone market. We understand their needs and know they are looking for a device that meets their camera and multimedia storage needs while being affordable and aesthetically pleasing,” added Gareth Clarke, realme account lead.

Looking at some of the other standout features on this device, the 5 000mAh battery also supports 33W SUPERVOOC charging, which yields up to 50 percent battery capacity in 30 minutes of charging. Added to this is the expandable storage, with it capable of housing up to a 2TB SD card, along with the C51 catering to dual SIM functionality.

The last element worth mentioning is that if you want to pick up the realme C51 on contract, recommended pricing starts at R219 depending on the network.
