Salesforce and AWS set to integrate more services

  • At re:Invent 2023, Salesforce and Amazon Web Services (AWS), are expanding their long standing, global strategic partnership.
  • The pair aim to deepen product integrations across data and artificial intelligence.
  • Salesforce will support Amazon Bedrock via Einstein Trust Layer.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is currently hosting its annual re:Invent 2023 conference, where the hyperscaler is expected to unveil new products and services for the upcoming year. Also a fixture at the conference are announcements related to partnerships with AWS, with Salesforce this week confirming that it is set to expand its relationship with the company.

As has been the focus across the technology industry in 2023, generative AI is where the pair will be focusing much of their attention moving forward.

“The expanded agreement makes it easier for customers to seamlessly and securely manage their data across Salesforce and AWS, and safely and responsibly infuse the latest generative AI technologies into their applications and workflows,” highlighted Salesforce in a press release sent to Hypertext.

The expansion will also, for the first time, will offer select Salesforce products on the AWS Marketplace.

“Today’s announcement is an incredible milestone in the evolution of our longstanding partnership with AWS,” noted Marc Benioff, chair and CEO of Salesforce.

“We’re bringing together the #No. 1 AI CRM provider and the leading cloud provider to deliver a trusted, open, integrated data and AI platform, and ensuring we meet massive customer demand for our products on the AWS Marketplace. With these enhancements to our partnership, we’re enabling all of our customers to be more innovative, productive and successful in this new AI era,” he enthused.

In terms of the AWS products Salesforce will support, Amazon Bedrock, the company’s fully managed service that makes foundation models (FMs) through a single application programming interface (API), will be added to the mix. This will be done through the Einstein Trust Layer to power AI-driven apps and workflows in Salesforce.

Also being supported will be Salesforce Data Cloud, expanding data sharing across additional AWS technologies. These Data Cloud integrations will be governed by new centralised access controls, which will give customers the ability to manage secure user access at the folder, object, and file level in Amazon S3.
