You can now buy COD Points for Call of Duty Mobile in Rands

  • South African players of Call of Duty Mobile can now purchase COD Points and Battle Passes in Rands thanks to a partnership with Carry1st.
  • Carry1st is one of Africa’s largest mobile game publishers and launched local servers for Call of Duty Mobile last year.
  • The company is now offering a 10 percent discount for COD Points and Battle Passes to South Africa players.

South African players of Activision’s Call of Duty Mobile can now purchase in-game currency Call of Duty Points (COD Points) and Battle Passes in direct Rands from Carry1st thanks to a new partnership between the African mobile games publisher and the now-Microsoft-owned Activision.

COD Points allow players to buy in-game items and weapons which is the primary method that games like Call of Duty and other “free” titles generate revenue. Additionally, players can now buy Battle Passes from Carry1st for the game which unlocks tiers of content like weapon camos, outfits and weapon blueprints. Both can now be purchased through Carry1st and its payment platform Pay1st.

Carry1st is currently holding a special deal, offering each tier of COD Points at a 10 percent discount. These bundles start at R7.27 for 30 COD Points up to R8 462 for 54 000 COD Points.

“We’re thrilled to grow our alliance with Call of Duty: Mobile. After successfully teaming up in South Africa in 2022, we are delighted to expand our relationship to better serve a growing audience across the continent,” said Pay1st Growth Lead, Spencer Ma, in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“With the integration of Pay1st, we’re enabling African gamers to make purchases through local payment methods and in local currency on the Carry1st Shop.”

Carry1st operates in other African countries too and will adjust its prices accordingly, as well as its payment methods for fans of the mobile shooter. The company has been making strides to promote and increase the local player base of the popular mobile battle royale shooter. In 2022 it hosted and sponsored events for Call of Duty Mobile at Comic Con Africa and a tournament held by rapper Nasty C.

“We’re excited to join forces with Carry1st once again, after our successful collaboration last year when we launched servers in South Africa. By integrating Carry1st’s payment platform, we are opening up access for millions more gamers in the region to engage with Call of Duty: Mobile,” said head of the game, Jeff Gullett.

”Africa represents an important user base, and through our partnership with Carry1st we can continue to meet their needs.”

South African players can head to the Carry1st shop to buy COD Points and Battle Passes and can receive their purchases via inputting their Call of Duty Mobile UID before completing the payment. Once complete, you will receive your points directly to your Call of Duty account without having to deal with vouchers or pin codes.

Earlier this year Carry1st announced that it made a deal with Riot Games to host local servers of team shooter Valorant. It made a similar deal with Activision in 2022 to launch local servers for the mobile version of Call of Duty.
