When discussing successful game consoles, Nintendo reigns supreme even though the Switch desperately needs a hardware update and games retain their launch price, seemingly forever.

But when it comes to debates about which console is better, the so-called Console Wars revolve around PlayStation and Xbox. Both the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 sport the latest in gaming hardware and offer players a way to enjoy the latest videogames from top studios.

However, despite being more affordable than a top-of-the-line gaming PC, a new console is still a sizeable investment and as such, most folks are only going to be able to afford one or the other.
