FNB drops vehicle license renewal fee to R69

  • Renewing a vehicle license through FNB will now cost just R69 for a limited time.
  • Vehicle owners can simply open the FNB app, scan their existing license and pay to have it renewed.
  • FNB customers can earn R99 back in eBucks when taking advantage of this service.

Last year FNB lowered the fee for renewing a vehicle license on its smartphone app. The bank has now announced a further reduction in this fee.

For a limited time, FNB customers can renew their vehicle license and have it delivered for just R69. This fee can be paid with eBucks which is rather great if you have a few digital coins lying around doing nothing. As an aside, you need around 690 eBucks to take advantage of this limited-time offer.

“This is another way we’re helping our customers navigate life and the tough economic environment by offering affordable, seamless, and secured solutions for their car needs. The service continues to grow in popularity, with over 1 million vehicles uploaded to the platform and 107 000 vehicle license renewals completed over the past 12 months,” Jolandé Duvenage, nav>> chief imagineer at FNB reports.

As an aside, chief imagineer is a title assigned to the person who looks after FNB’s nav>> ecosystem.

FNB has partnered with the Road Traffic Management Corporation to make this license renewal service available. Thanks to this collaboration, vehicle owners won’t need to submit paperwork via the FNB App and can simply scan the existing license disc, and pay. You will also be asked to provide a delivery address during this process so ensure that this is correct.

As an additional benefit for FNB customers, when renewing your license disc on the FNB App you can earn R99 back in eBucks or 990 eBucks. The bank will also provide customers who take advantage of this offer with an obligation-free quotation from FNB Insurance. That’s a nice benefit that may lead to savings on your vehicle insurance.

“The vehicle license renewal service is part of a comprehensive range of solutions that are available to FNB customers as part of its broader nav» Car ecosystem offering. This includes helping customers get free vehicle value estimates, pay traffic fines, insure their vehicles against theft, and protect against scratches, or dents, and access vehicle repair providers or take up an extended warranty to minimise the cost of mechanical repairs,” FNB explained in a press statement.

There are multiple ways to renew your vehicle license with the South Africa Post Office one of the most popular ways to do this. Nothing beats the simplicity of opening up an app to renew your license and considering that fines for an expired license disc can climb to as high as R1 000, the convenience is welcomed.
