Why three-phase and why now with Sungrow

Recently we brought you the news that Sungrow, a pioneer in the world of power products, had introduced three-phase offerings to the South African market not just as a way to combat loadshedding, but also to aid in the advancement of the country towards a greener future.

To find out more about this brave new launch we got to speak to Ezzat Sankari, Channels Business director for Sungrow Middle East and Africa.

We asked Sankari why now is the right time to bring three-phase power independence to the private residences, schools and businesses of South Africa.

“We are seeing that not only big businesses are moving towards three-phase but also residents as well as small and medium size enterprises. This makes us very keen to introduce these products at this time in order to complement our other offerings and comprehensively cover the South African market,” Sankari tells us.

As the country is in the middle of another blistering Summer we also had to ask Sankari if climate control and air conditioning is a factor in the three-phase backup power additions. In the past these kinds of devices drew far too much power to be considered for running on anything but straight power directly from the government, but now, with solutions like the SH15-25T Residential Hybrid Three Phase Inverter, you can keep power going to maintain whatever local climate you want.

“That is definitely a part of it and many people don’t know that you can get three-phase power in regular residential properties. Three-phase isn’t just for businesses and that’s why our new products are so handy: you can serve residential properties and businesses with the same equipment. Even residential property which may run small businesses – and even small businesses with high power requirements, like a beauty salon, for example – can all enjoy three-phase and uninterrupted power from Sungrow,” Sankari says.

While Sungrow customers are comfortable with their power climate control they are also comfortable in the fact that Sungrow three-phase power products are engineered to be as robust as possible with some devices even able to be installed outside thanks to an IP55+ rating, C5 construction for coastal areas, and a slew of safety features for ultimate trust.

If you have a third party company acting as the installer or financier of your backup power needs, insist that Sungrow products are used. Only Sungrow can offer amazing customer-focused perks such as 24/7 customer support, hands free control through the iSolarCloud app, a 10-year warranty on batteries and a five-year warranty on inverters which can be extended to 10 years.

These kinds of benefits were also espoused by Frederik Willemse, Director at renewable engineering company ARPSOL. Willemse tells us that ARPSOL creates bespoke solutions for every customer down to every metre of wire run and each wire usually ends in a Sungrow product.

It’s this detailed work and the quality of Sungrow which is why so many of Willemse’s clients are so happy and why many have not only recouped their investment on independent power, but some have even started to generate excess power which can be sold to neighbouring structures or piped back into the grid.
