SingularityU South Africa 2024 set for October this year

  • The SingularityU South Africa Summit for 2024 has set out its dates for this year.
  • The event will be taking place from 20th to 22nd October at the Sandton Convention Centre.
  • Early bird tickets are on sale, starting at R12 000.

The sixth annual SingularityU South Africa Summit has set out its dates for 2024.

An official announcement confirms that the event will be taking place both in-person and virtually from 20th to 22nd October, with the Sandton Convention Centre serving as the venue for this year.

This year’s iteration also sees Old Mutual come onboard as a key sponsor and partner.

“We are very excited to partner with SingularityU South Africa to host the 2024 Summit. We are committed to supporting innovation, research and the exploration of emerging technologies that have the potential to shape the future. Our investment in the advancement of knowledge and technology will offer us valuable insights that can help inform the delivery of our Integrated Financial Services Strategy,” noted Iain Williamson, CEO of Old Mutual, in a release sent to Hypertext.

As has been the case with previous iterations of SingularityU South Africa, the multi-day event is concerned with one thing – the future. It is therefore going to feature a wide-ranging speaker lineup that will touch on subject matters including AI, robotics, biotechnology, blockchain, ESG, cybersecurity, and more.

Super early bird tickets for the event are already available to purchase, but they do not come cheap, with it starting at R12 000 for the in-person version of the event. This pricing is also only being sold between now and 15th May, with it increasing in cost the closer we get to the October date of the event.

Along with the in-person version, the virtual track will be metaverse in nature, with the super early bird pricing for this starting at R2 000.

The SingularityU South Africa Summit was one of, if not the first event hosted locally that featured a track for attendees on the metaverse, doing so before the pandemic of a few years ago.

“Together with Old Mutual, we’re igniting a movement towards a future where Africa leads with pioneering solutions and groundbreaking technologies. It’s not just an event; it’s the dawn of a new era for Africa,” organisers have boasted.
