Tarsus partners will have access to Samsung monitors and storage soon

  • Tarsus Distribution and Samsung Electronics have signed an agreement whereby Tarsus partners will get access to Samsung products.
  • These products include Samsung monitors and storage solutions.
  • The IDC forecasts that the monitor market is set to grow over the next two years as users upgrade their displays.

Southern Africa hardware, software and information security distributor, Tarsus Distribution has announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Samsung Electronics.

The agreement will see Tarsus partners gaining access to Samsung’s Odyssey Gaming and Viewfinity monitors. Tarsus will also distribute Samsung SATA, NVMe, portable SSD and MicroSD products. This will see these products made available to more South Africans.

“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Tarsus Distribution. This collaboration will enable us to expand the reach of our Enterprise portfolio, delivering innovative solutions to our customers with speed and efficiency,” said Mike van Lier, vice president of Consumer Electronics at Samsung South Africa.

Not only does this agreement benefit Tarsus, as Van Lier explains, it makes it easier for customers to use its products. The VP adds that through Tarsus the manufacturer will be able to reach more channel partners and customers.

The distributor is equally as pleased to welcome back to its catalogue.

“We are excited to rejoin forces with Samsung to bring their world-class display and storage solutions to our channel partners. This partnership underscores our dedication to providing cutting-edge technology and exceptional service, empowering partners, businesses and individuals to thrive in today’s competitive landscape,” Mark Campbell, product executive at Tarsus Distribution said in a statement.

The South Korean electronics firm is one of the top five monitor brands in the world, by shipments. While the market for monitors declined slightly in 2023, the market ultimately grew 3.8 percent thanks to improved sales in the final quarter of the year.

The IDC reports that there is reason to believe that the monitor market may experience further growth this year and next as users migrate to larger displays with more features.

With that in mind, expanding its distribution network to include Tarsus is a good move and means you’ll likely start seeing more Samsung monitors on shelves in future.
