Series heading to Showmax next month

  • Showmax has highlighted the TV series and shows landing on its streaming platform in June.
  • The headline-grabbing series is the second season of House of the Dragon.
  • Showmax will make new episodes available to stream only a few hours after they air in the United States.

As South Africans ready to hunker down for the colder months, it may be a good time to think about the new content that will be available to stream. This week we have already covered what’s coming to Disney+ in June, and now it is the turn of Showmax as we pay particular attention to the series that will be landing on the streaming platform next month.

As you can gauge by the header image, the leading arrival in June for Showmax is the second season of House of the Dragon. While not yet reaching the heights of Game of Thrones, this spinoff has proved a success and the second season is hotly anticipated.

Aware of this, Showmax will make new episodes available to stream only a few hours after they debut in the United States, starting on 17th June. Making it one of the best legal ways to keep up with what’s happening in season two of the series.

“The second season of House of the Dragon flies express to Showmax and M-Net from 17 June 2024. The Emmy-winning first season was named Best TV Series – Drama at the 2023 Golden Globes and Best TV Series at Rotten Tomatoes’ Golden Tomato Awards for the best-reviewed show of 2022,” noted Showmax in a release shared with Hypertext.

Other notable series landing on Showmax in June include the second season of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School which arrives on the 24th, as well as the first season of Knuckles on 14th June. These are joined by Special Ops: Lioness with Zoe Saldana on 13th June, the second season of Power Book IV: Force on 19th June, and the first season of Alice & Jack come 27th June.

If any of the above series are new to you, we’ve included trailers for them below to offer up a taste of what they promise and potentially whet the appetite to stream them too.
