SPEEDRUN – Amazon.co.za wants you

A potential disruptor to South Africa’s ecommerce landscape, last week saw amazon.co.za go live in the country as the website kicked off a soft launch before beginning operations in earnest in the coming weeks and months.

To ensure amazon.co.za is ready for its launch proper, the company has putting out job listings for local talent, with its operations in Cape Town and Johannesburg in particular in need of workers.

“Amazon has over 70 jobs available in South Africa at the time of writing,” our own Luis Monzon wrote yesterday. “Many of the positions are new, and have been posted in the last two months but others have been available since last year, with the oldest from June 2023… You can apply for all the jobs directly on the Amazon website, but will require an Amazon or Google account,” he added.

More details on the job listings for amazon.co.za can be found in the story embedded below.

Along with an ecommerce giant looking for local talent, in this morning’s SPEEDRUN roundup, we’re highlighting a recent blackout of out of touch celebrities online, a first playthrough of Shadow of War for one our writers, details on revenue for local artists on Spotify, and a review of OPPO’s latest tablet.
