AWS introduces two AI certifications for in-demand jobs

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced two new certifications in AI for those wanting to supercharge their credentials.
  • The certifications can help boost salaries by as much as 47 percent, according to AWS.
  • Registration for beta exams starts are set to kick off on 13th August 2024.

With the technology sector obsessed with artificial intelligence and businesses the world over clambering for employees with AI-related skills, getting certified in the burgeoning technology will prove important.

It is why Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the introduction of two new AI certifications.

The pair of AI certifications have been introduced as a way for those in the cloud computing sector to supercharge their skills and vastly improve both their chances of employment, as well as earning potential.

The two AI certifications are the AWS Certified AI Practitioner and AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate.

The former is described as a, “foundational-level certification. It is designed for people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences to showcase their understanding of AI and generative AI concepts, their ability to recognize opportunities that benefit from AI, and their knowledge on using AI tools responsibly.”

The latter is, “designed for individuals with at least one year of experience building, deploying, and maintaining AI and ML solutions on AWS. It is beneficial for people who want to demonstrate their ability to make AI models available for real-time usage,” AWS explained in a release sent to Hypertext.

To further support why those in the cloud sector, or those wanting to enter it, should pursue the two AI certifications, AWS cites a study it published late last year. It explained that AI will transform the way people work across multiple roles.

More specifically, it found that organisations are willing to pay a premium for professionals with AI skills. On this front salaries of individuals with strong AI skills were up to 47 percent higher for IT workers, 43 percent higher for those in sales and marketing, and 42 percent higher for those in finance..

“Whether you’re a student beginning to explore a career in AI, a professional in a business role with a solid grasp of AI concepts, or an ML specialist operationalizing AI models, AWS’s new certifications can help you prove that you’re well positioned to innovate in your field,” the hyperscaler added.

You can find out more about the new certifications via the links featured above, with AWS noting that on 13th August 2024, you’ll be able to register for the beta exams of both.
